3) Ratatouille
A impossible dream of a rat who aspires to become a chef is a completely new concept was well received by the public. Remy's role as a secret cook in a French restaurant is a great recipe generates laughter. The culinary world of Paris upside down each time for a rat race is well represented in the film.
4) Shrek

The obstacles facing this unlikely band of heroes, during his mission only to the left of the audience, just astounding.
Although each of the cartoons is unique in its own way, all united by the universal theme of love. They give us the message that life in any way, deserves respect.

I do not think painters or composers are looking for animals cruelty, but you can maybe try to fond something about the comic strip books. You can also read some books that talk of animals, such as Jack London: the White fang, or The Call of the Wild, with quotes about your theme.
